Brace for Cuteness: Kitten Season is Officially Here

Every year, warm weather brings a boom of infant cats to animal shelters across the country. While that may sound adorable, young kittens place a strain on many municipal shelters as they rally to provide space, time, and resources for some of the most vulnerable lives in animal wellness. In the past month alone, Joybound has taken in more than 100 kittens from partner shelters across the state, many of whom need full-time care in foster homes before being ready to find new families.

As temperatures rise, remember that pets are more susceptible to heat-related illnesses and discomfort than you may realize. Cats and dogs don’t regulate their body temperature as efficiently as we do, making them more prone to heatstroke, dehydration, and burns – especially on their tender paw pads. Adoptable Animals Want to Meet YOU

Here are just a handful of the dogs and cats currently searching for new families at Joybound. Adoptions are open from 12 – 6 pm every day, but guests can arrive as early as 9 am to put their name on our early sign-in sheet to be first to meet our animals at noon.
