Have Your Birthday Party at Joybound!
Joybound’s birthday parties are held in our onsite party room, right next to our pet adoption floor. This space can accommodate a maximum of 15 kids, plus their adult guardians. These fabulous parties are offered every Saturday, with two time slots available: 10 AM – 12 PM and 1 PM – 3 PM.
The first hour of the party consists of a tour of Joybound’s adoption floor (and other parts of the facility depending on attendees’ age), a mock pet adoption, and a visit from a furry member of our Pet Hug Pack® therapy pet program. After this, you will have the last 30 – 45 minutes to an hour to use the room for food, presents, games, etc. The cost to book a birthday party at Joybound is $500.
Birthday Party Elements
Your birthday party at Joybound will include:
- A tour of our Joybound facility to see the cats and dogs and to learn about our current animals up for adoption.
- Access to our Education Center to set up food, drinks, and decorations to celebrate the birthday honoree.
- A mock adoption for the birthday honoree and friends. They will adopt a stuffed animal, and volunteers will guide them through the adoption process.
- A visit from one of our Pet Hug Pack® therapy animals, so the party can interact with an animal on site.
Timeline of Events
Here is an example of what your birthday party at Joybound could look like:
- 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Parents/guardians arrive and set up food/cake.
- 10:00 AM – 10:15 AM: Attendees arrive and the party begins.
- 10:15 AM – 10:45 AM: Attendees meet in party room and embark on tour of Joybound facility.
- 10:45 AM – 11:15 AM: The special birthday honoree participates in a mock adoption of a pet.
- 11:15 AM – 11:30 AM: A Pet Hug Pack® therapy animal visits the party and socializes with the guests.
- 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: The guests continue celebrating and hanging out!

Frequently Asked Questions
The host family should arrive 30-60 minutes prior to the birthday guests’ arrival – please no earlier than one hour in advance and no later than 30 minutes in advance. This allows time for you to set up our Education Center with decorations, food, and/or drinks that people will partake in at the end.
🎉 What time will the party end?
At (or around) 12 pm we will need to start cleaning up. Guests should start leaving at this time, and the host family should start packing up any excess food, drink, presents, etc.
🎉 Will party guests be able to interact with shelter animals?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee interaction with Joybound shelter dogs or cats. But a furry member of our Pet Hug Pack® therapy animal team will make a visit to let party guests enjoy some time with a lovable animal.
🎉 What is provided by Joybound?
Joybound provides dedicated space in our Education Center, a tour of the facility, and guaranteed interaction with a canine or feline member of the Pet Hug Pack®.
Keep in mind, Joybound does not provide:
• Food or drinks
• Utensils, plates, and/or napkins.
• Decorations for the party room.
